Why Back Care Routines Often Stop Working
Many people who come to this class describe the same experiences. Here are the situations this session is designed to speak to.
- Long hours of desk work that leave the back feeling tight and uncomfortable by evening.
- Mornings that start slowly, with stiffness in the first few steps of the day.
- Routines that help for a while, then quietly stop making a difference.
- A wish to find a gentle, natural daily practice to use alongside regular medical care.
- Wanting to build protective habits and better posture before discomfort becomes a bigger issue.
It's rarely about effort. Most routines are simply not matched to the person doing them — and that's what this session unpacks.
In This Free Masterclass, You'll Learn
A clear, practical walkthrough of the assessment, the practice and the daily rhythm.
Why generic back care routines often miss the point
How the spine responds to daily habits, and why one-size-fits-all advice rarely holds up.
Movements to favour vs. movements to approach carefully
How gentle practices are matched to a person's body, and what to be cautious with.
The daily rhythm that keeps a practice going
Not a single class — a repeatable structure you can hold week after week.
A simple self-check for your own movement pattern
Walk away able to describe how your back behaves through the day, plus how to fit a natural routine into a busy schedule.
Generic Routines vs. a Matched Practice
The difference between generic back care advice and the Spine Relief approach.
Generic exercises picked without understanding the person
Assessment first — understand your own pattern before you practise
Short-term fixes that only cover up discomfort
Working on underlying habits with therapeutic yoga and mindfulness
One-size-fits-all yoga classes
A practice matched to your body and your day
Sporadic effort — a class here, a stretch there
The Right Rhythm — a sustainable daily structure
No plan beyond the next session
Gentle, natural habits you can keep alongside your regular medical care
My Philosophy: Understand, Realign, Sustain
Three steps, in this order — assessment before practice, practice before rhythm.
Understand
We start by understanding your movement habits, daily routine and how your back feels through the day — instead of generic assumptions.
Realign
We introduce gentle therapeutic yoga, movement and mindfulness practices suited to your body and your day.
Sustain
We build a simple, repeatable daily rhythm so the practice becomes part of life, not just a one-off session.
The 3 Parts of a Back Care Practice That Lasts
Each part replaces a common assumption about back care with what tends to work in practice.
The Right Assessment
Most back care routines are chosen before understanding what kind of discomfort someone has.
You'll learn a simple way to describe your own pattern of discomfort, so your practice is chosen with awareness rather than guesswork.
The Right Practice
A movement that suits one person's back may not suit another's.
You'll learn how gentle therapeutic practices are matched to a person's body and situation — and which ones to approach carefully.
The Right Rhythm
One yoga class on its own rarely changes a long-standing habit.
You'll learn a sustainable daily structure built to fit a busy working or home life.

Meet Your Guide: Dr. Chow Siddhartha, PhD
Yoga therapist and researcher · Founder, Siddhartha Yoga
Dr. Chow Siddhartha, PhD (academically published as Dr. Chametcha Singphow) has spent over two decades studying and teaching yoga therapy in the field of low back pain.
He served as Chief Yoga Therapist of the Back Pain Section at S-VYASA University, Bangalore, for 5 years, teaching hundreds of people gentle yoga therapy, mindfulness and lifestyle practices alongside their regular medical care.
Over 22 years, Dr. Chow has taught people from many walks of life — desk-bound professionals, homemakers, teachers and retirees — how to build personalised, evidence-informed yoga practices suited to their bodies and daily routines.
His teaching is grounded in six Randomised Controlled Trials that he led, conducted and published in peer-reviewed national and international journals, and refined through working with over 3,500 people. He received his PhD from S-VYASA University at a convocation presided over by Padma Shri Dr. HR Nagendra, with whom he has also co-authored peer-reviewed research.
If you have spent a long time looking for a gentle, natural daily practice for your back, this session shares what two decades of research and teaching suggest is worth knowing.

Evidence-Informed Yoga Therapy for Everyday Back Care
Two decades of teaching that combines time-tested yoga therapy with modern research on movement, posture and stress.
- Posture through the working day
- Desk and screen ergonomics
- Gentle spinal mobility
- Core and hip stability
- Safe stretching principles
- Breathing and relaxation
- Mindfulness for everyday stress
- Sleep and wind-down habits
- Standing and lifting mechanics
- Walking and daily movement
- Building a 20-minute routine
- Staying consistent long term
Long hours of sitting can strain the spine, so this approach is also about building protective habits early. It is educational and works alongside your doctor's guidance, never in place of it.
Evidence-informed approach
Practices are drawn from published research and two decades of clinical teaching experience.
Habit-focused
We look at the daily habits around posture, movement and stress rather than chasing quick fixes.
Progressive skill building
You'll learn techniques you can keep using for life — it's a skill you carry with you.
Safe & gentle methods
Sessions are gentle and beginner-friendly. No extreme poses, no risky movements.
What Past Participants Say
Stories shared by participants who practised regularly. These are personal experiences, not typical or promised outcomes, and names have been adjusted for privacy.
Teaching for decades means you spend your life on your feet, and by evening my back had very little left to give. Dr. Chow listened to everything: my history, my lifestyle, my routine. The practice he gave me felt almost too simple, but I noticed I was moving more comfortably week by week. Fourteen years later I still follow it, and it's simply part of my morning now.

I had been uncomfortable through my back and neck for a couple of years. As a psychiatrist I understood a lot about the body, but living with daily discomfort is different. Dr. Chow's combination of yoga therapy and mindfulness helped me work with my body instead of fighting it. I sleep better, and the practice has stayed part of my routine for the last five years.
Dr. Sophia Rodriguez
Psychiatrist • Texas, USA
I came in unsure whether gentle yoga could make any difference to how stiff I felt each morning. What surprised me was how structured it was — a short daily routine, done properly, with clear guidance on what to do and what to skip. Years on, I still do the practice he taught me and I feel far more confident in how I move.
